Faran - Faran (Allium Stracheyi) or Jambhu is a perennial seasoning herb with rosy flowers found in altitudes of 2500-3000m in the Alpine Himalayas of Uttarakhand. We Sun-dry these Faran leaves and inflorescence to preserve them.
It is widely used for seasoning and tempering dishes.
How to use:
1. Take a small amount of faran, crush it by using your palms
2. Put a small quantity of cooking oil or Badri cow ghee in the pan and heat it
3. Add Faran and fry till light brown
4. Put the fried faran in dal, curry or veggie.
5. Serve hot & enjoy 😉
